Where will everyone stay?
You have chosen your wedding venue. You have arragned for the reception and the rehearsal dinner. The FloridaWeddingDirectory has been your guide. But where will everyone stay and for how long? Check the listings below for excellent guest lodging.
If you have chosen a hotel or an inn for the reception or rehearsal dinner or both, you will want to propose additional discounts for guest rooms at the same location. If your wedding is to be at a large hotel, some of your guests may prefer to stay at a small, quaint local inn.
Don't forget that some of those who come from some distance may want to remain in the area longer than just a day or two. Ask the proprietor if the discount price can be extended for a few days either before or after the ceremony.
If you live in the area where the wedding will take place, it is a good idea to visit some of the possibilities personally to get an idea if their real amenities match their advertisements. You can ask the proprietor to set aside a certain number of rooms at a special price until a certain time before the big day (usually no less than a week or two prior). If the rooms are not reserved by the wedding guests by that time, they go back on the market at the regular price.
In most cases, ALL guests accomodations should be pre-arranged by the guests themselves at their own expense. You are merely providing hotel or inn recommendations for their convenience. There should be no need for you to "guarantee" room occupancy and you should not get caught in the bind of paying for "no shows" who booked the rooms but did not attend. |
